How does the proof process work?

Once you place an order, a member of our studio lays out your piece and emails you a digital proof — usually within two business days. Nothing is cut, engraved or printed until you reply with your approval. Small tweaks to text, spacing and framing are always free.

How long until my piece ships?

Most made-to-order pieces are hand-finished and shipped within 7–10 business days of proof approval. Larger pieces and two-board vows can take a few days longer. We email tracking the moment it leaves the studio.

How do payments work? Do you take my card on the site?

We never collect card details on this website. When you place an order we email you an itemized invoice; once you've approved your proof, you settle the invoice securely through the link in that email. It keeps your card data off our servers entirely — and means you only pay once you're happy with the proof.

What photo or file should I send for engraving?

The sharper and better-lit the original, the better the result. For photo engraving we recommend at least 1500 pixels on the long edge. For waveforms, send an audio file or a link to the song. You can attach files at checkout or reply to your order email.

What woods do you use?

Solid North-American black walnut, white oak and hard maple, sourced from FSC-certified mills. Each board is 0.75 inches thick, hand-sanded and finished with a food-safe oil. Canvas pieces are archival giclée on heavyweight cotton, gallery-wrapped over kiln-dried pine.

Can I return a custom piece?

Because each piece is made to order from your words and photos, we can't resell returns — but we stand behind our work completely. If anything arrives damaged or doesn't match your approved proof, we remake it at no charge. Love it or we remake it.

Do you ship outside the United States?

We ship across the US and to Canada. For other destinations, write to us at hello@vintagewoodcanvas.com with your country and we'll quote shipping before you order.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes — digital gift cards are delivered by email and never expire. They're perfect when you want to gift a custom piece but would rather the recipient choose the photo and words themselves.
